JobTread publishes its price, so "JobTread pricing" looks like an easy question. The headline is $199 a month, but what you actually pay depends on how many people count as internal users, whether you bill monthly or yearly, and how your clients pay you. Here's the full math for a small remodeling crew, checked on JobTread's own pages today.
Quick answer
JobTread costs $199/mo including one internal user, plus $20/mo per added internal user (users 2–10), or $159/mo plus $16 per user billed yearly. A 5-person crew that clocks in pays $279/mo. For a small remodeler, we recommend Amberchalk: Pro is $79/mo for unlimited users, there's a Free plan you can start today, and the phone app keeps working offline. JobTread is the better fit if a live two-way QuickBooks Online sync and free sub and vendor portals run your office.

Amberchalk publishes this blog. JobTread prices were checked on JobTread's own pricing, payments and integration pages on October 30, 2026, and are in US dollars. Other vendors' prices are from their own pricing pages, checked the same day. We include where Amberchalk falls short, too.
JobTread pricing in 2026 (checked Oct 30)
According to JobTread's pricing page, checked October 30, 2026:
- Base price: $199 per month, which includes your first internal user.
- Added internal users on the monthly plan: $20 each for users 2–10, $15 each for users 11–20, $10 each for 21–30 and $5 each from user 31. Each rate applies only to the users in that tier.
- Annual plan: "Save 20% on an annual subscription." The page's price calculator lists the annual base at $159/mo, with added users at $16, $12, $8 and $4 per month in the same tiers.
- No contract and no setup fees, with free implementation, training and support.
- Every feature is included. There are no plan tiers to upgrade through; you pay by internal user count.
- No free trial. Monthly subscriptions get a 30-day money-back guarantee instead.
The part that decides your bill is who counts as an internal user.
Who counts as a paid internal user
JobTread defines internal users as employees who need access "to view customer and vendor information, manage jobs, build and modify schedules, track time, and access reports." Accountants can count too.
Free users fall into two groups:
- Customers, subcontractors and vendors use JobTread's external portals for free, with no limit.
- Some field crew can be added free if they only upload pictures, log daily notes, view their schedule or check off tasks.
The catch for a remodeler is the phrase "track time." If your carpenters and helpers clock in on the app, each one is a paid internal user.
What JobTread costs by team size
Using the rates on JobTread's pricing page:
| Internal users | Monthly plan | Per year, monthly plan | Annual plan (per month) | Per year, annual plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $199 | $2,388 | $159 | $1,908 |
| 3 | $239 | $2,868 | $191 | $2,292 |
| 5 | $279 | $3,348 | $223 | $2,676 |
| 8 | $339 | $4,068 | $271 | $3,252 |
| 10 | $379 | $4,548 | $303 | $3,636 |
| 15 | $454 | $5,448 | $363 | $4,356 |
Our math: base plus each added user at its tier rate. Taxes aren't included.
Is JobTread free? Does it have a free trial?
No and no. There's no free plan and no free trial. JobTread's FAQ explains why: it assigns every client a Customer Success Manager and invests in implementation and training, and it found that "when the client has some skin in the game it leads to much faster and more successful implementations."
What you get instead is the 30-day money-back guarantee on monthly subscriptions. The cheapest way to test JobTread is one refundable month on the monthly plan: $199 for one user, or $279 for a crew of five. The page lists the guarantee only for monthly plans.
Costs beyond the subscription
JobTread says there are no setup fees and no hidden fees for features. The cost to watch is getting paid online. Per JobTread's collect payments page, checked October 30, 2026, its Stripe integration costs:
- Cards: 2.95% + 30¢ per successful charge. JobTread's own example: $59.30 on a $2,000 invoice.
- ACH bank transfer: $1 plus 1%, capped at $15 per transaction.
JobTread also lists a Truss integration with free ACH transfers and card payments at $0.30 + 3.25%, which runs through QuickBooks Online. For a small crew, though, the per-user count moves the bill far more than payment fees.
When JobTread's price is worth it
JobTread fits when:
- Your bookkeeper lives in QuickBooks Online. JobTread's QuickBooks Online page describes a two-way sync covering customers, jobs, invoices, payments, bills, expenses, cost codes and time entries.
- You work with lots of subs and suppliers who should see bids, POs and documents in their own free portal.
- Your office team is small but busy. If only 2–3 people need full access and the crew only takes photos and daily notes, the bill stays near $199–$239 a month.
- You want hands-on onboarding. Implementation and a success manager are included.
Like Amberchalk, JobTread is a web app you add to your home screen, not an App Store download (mobile app page).
Cheaper options for a small crew
1. Amberchalk: our pick for small remodelers (unlimited users for $79/mo)
Price: Free plan ($0, 1 user, 1 active project, no card). Crew $39/mo or $390/yr (3 users, 3 active projects, +$10/mo per extra user or project). Pro $79/mo or $790/yr with unlimited users and unlimited projects. 7-day trial on paid plans, no contract (pricing). A 10-person crew on Pro pays $790 a year, versus $3,636 a year for 10 internal users on JobTread's annual plan.
What you get: Amberchalk is built for remodelers and small GCs who run the job from a phone.
- Unlimited users on Pro. Everyone who clocks in, builds a schedule or snaps a photo is covered by the same $79. Hiring a helper doesn't change your bill.
- Works offline. Jobs, photos and schedules live on the phone first and sync when you're back in signal, which matters in a gutted house or a new subdivision with no Wi-Fi.
- Schedules and the homeowner link: generate a kitchen, bath or whole-home schedule from your start date, assign subs to each trade, and share a homeowner link with progress and photos but no money data.
- Selections and change orders with e-signature: track selections, deliveries and paint colors, and send change orders your client approves from a link with a typed-name signature and a timestamp.
- Time cards, receipts, invoices and online payment: crew time cards, T&M invoices with markup, and Pay online, so clients pay by card or bank through your own Stripe account.
- Files on the job: upload PDFs and photos (plans, contracts, spec sheets) to a job so the whole team has them.
- Pro adds financials with job costing, receipt scanning, estimating and takeoff from plans, branded reports, QuickBooks export, and Scan receipt in Selections: photograph a supply-house receipt (or open the PDF they emailed) and line items are matched to your selections on the phone, with no per-scan fee.
- More than one company? Switch between companies from the Account page, each with its own data.
- Download job: save a ZIP with a summary PDF, spreadsheets and the original photos and files before you archive a job.
Good to know: Amberchalk has no sub or vendor portal and no warranty module. QuickBooks is a file export on Pro (QuickBooks Online CSV or Desktop IIF), not a two-way sync like JobTread's. Online payments carry a 1% Amberchalk fee (max $25 per payment) plus Stripe's processing fees. The Free plan puts an Amberchalk watermark on reports. There's no JobTread importer, so you start new jobs fresh. It's a new product without third-party reviews yet, and like JobTread it's a web app you add to your home screen, not an App Store download.
Price it against your JobTread quote. Pro is $79/mo whether your crew is 3 people or 30. Start on the Free plan today, no sales call. Free plan, no card needed.

When it fits: you want a long feature list, native iOS and Android apps and a QuickBooks Online integration on a yearly plan.
Amberchalk is the better fit if you want unlimited users without a yearly commitment: Amberchalk Pro is $79/mo month-to-month, versus $399/mo for Contractor Foreman's monthly Unlimited plan.
3. Buildertrend: unlimited users, custom quote
Price: not published. Buildertrend's pricing page (checked Oct 30, 2026) asks a few questions and books a call for a custom quote. It says unlimited users are included and offers 10% off when you pay annually upfront. Our Buildertrend cost guide covers its last published plans and 2026 quote estimates.
When it fits: Buildertrend says it's built for builders who oversee 5+ projects a year or complex multi-phase builds, and it includes a sub portal, warranties and QuickBooks, Xero and Gusto integrations.
Amberchalk is the better fit if you want a price you can see before you sign up and to start the same day, without a quote call.

How to keep your software bill down
- Count who really needs full access. On JobTread, anyone who tracks time or builds schedules is paid.
- Price the people you'll hire next year. On JobTread, going from 5 to 8 internal users adds $60/mo ($339 vs. $279). On Amberchalk Pro, it adds nothing.
- Use the refund window deliberately. If you try JobTread, start monthly, run one real job inside the 30 days, then decide on the annual plan.
